Building Maintenance Worker

About the role

The Building Maintenance Worker ensures that the premises are clean, safe, and functional. You will perform routine cleaning, minor repairs, and support for various building systems. The role includes flexible early‑morning hours and occasional on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs.
• Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and heavy refuse.
• Empty trash cans and other waste containers throughout the building.
• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Contact contractors for major repairs and coordinate maintenance activities.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance such as painting, drywall repair, and snow/ice removal from walkways and parking areas.
• Water and tend to plants, lawns or gardens on the property.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant experience.

Required skills

• Operate industrial vacuum cleaners.
• Perform minor HVAC (heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning) repairs.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs.
• Perform minor electrical repairs.
