Branch Manager

About the role

United Rentals is seeking a Branch Manager to lead one of its equipment rental locations. In this role you will build and motivate a diverse team, deliver outstanding customer service, and drive profitability through effective business and operational management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage overall branch operations to ensure safety, productivity, customer service and profitability.
• Oversee sales initiatives and business development efforts.
• Prepare and analyze reports including profit and loss statements, monthly operating reviews, annual budgets and other operational metrics.
• Handle personnel matters, including hiring, training, performance management and scheduling.
• Lead safety programs, conduct audits, provide training, and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT regulations and drug‑testing policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support branch success.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of successful business management experience with P&L responsibility.
• Strong sales and customer‑service background, preferably with outside‑sales experience.
• Proven leadership, motivational, organizational and communication abilities.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Required skills

• Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of business accounting principles and budget preparation.
• Knowledge of equipment rental industry (preferred).
• Ability to manage safety compliance (OSHA, DOT).
