Associate, Philanthropy (Hybrid – Calgary)

About the role

The Associate, Philanthropy will support CNIB’s fundraising events and donor engagement across Alberta. Working within the Alberta Major Giving team, you will help plan and execute provincial events, cultivate donors, and manage community‑giving initiatives in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and support fundraising events and special projects, including donor cultivation events, Guide Dog Graduations, and a provincial signature event.
• Lead community‑giving initiatives to strengthen local engagement and revenue.
• Maintain high‑quality donor stewardship, prepare reports, and keep accurate donor records.
• Create external‑facing content such as competitive funding applications and proposals.
• Assist with donation processing, bank deposits, and ensure donor data is up‑to‑date in the database.
• Provide administrative and engagement support to the Senior Philanthropy Manager to meet annual revenue targets.
• Support moves‑management activities, tracking donor pipelines and fundraising results.
• Collaborate with Finance, Marketing & Communications, and Gift Management teams.

Required profile

• University degree or college diploma in business, fundraising, nonprofit management, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience leading events and committees, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
• 2–3 years of fundraising experience, ideally in major or community giving.
• Strong organizational, project‑management, and analytical abilities.
• Ability to build relationships and support donor engagement.
• Knowledge of vision‑loss issues is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Teams and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with Salesforce donor‑management system.
