About the role
The Department of Philosophy at McGill University seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor specializing in Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence. The appointment begins on August 1, 2027 and will join a pluralist, research‑intensive faculty.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct high‑quality research in metaphysics, philosophy of mind, language, epistemology, or related AI philosophy.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in philosophy and artificial intelligence.
- Supervise graduate students and mentor undergraduate learners.
- Participate in departmental, university, and scholarly service committees.
- Uphold a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all activities.
Required profile
- PhD completed or near completion in philosophy or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated outstanding research potential through publications or conference presentations.
- Ability to teach effectively at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Experience or intention to supervise graduate students and mentor diverse learners.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
