Assistant Production Manager

About the role

The Assistant Production Manager will support daily leadership of a custom cabinet manufacturing operation in Okanagan, BC. Reporting to the Production Manager, this hands‑on role ensures safe, consistent, and efficient production while fostering strong team performance.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate workflow, labour planning, material flow, and resource allocation in a custom cabinet environment.
• Maintain clear production priorities, address issues promptly, and support consistent execution across teams.
• Communicate operational direction set by the Production Manager and ensure expectations are followed.
• Act as a technical and operational resource, troubleshooting production challenges.
• Lead, coach, and develop production employees with focus on safety, quality, and accountability.
• Manage performance matters such as attendance, conduct, and conflict resolution in collaboration with supervisors.
• Monitor workflow, capacity, output, and quality to identify efficiency improvements.
• Maintain accurate production records and support reporting on performance, quality, labour, and delivery.

Required profile

• Experience in custom cabinet manufacturing or similar production environment.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and practical decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication and team‑leadership capabilities.
• Commitment to safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
