Join a dynamic leadership role within the Turningpoint program at Alberta Hospital Edmonton. As an Assistant Head Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in a specialized 18-bed forensic psychiatric unit, providing high-quality, patient-centered care for youth under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and individuals experiencing acute psychiatric disturbances.
Missions principales
- Provide consistent clinical leadership to foster a positive team culture and ensure excellence in patient care.
- Oversee daily clinical operations and coordinate unit activities under the guidance of the Unit Manager.
- Mentor, support, and guide nursing and support staff to promote professional growth.
- Contribute to workforce planning, including recruitment and staffing coordination.
- Maintain direct clinical involvement, supervising patient care in collaboration with the unit psychiatrist.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary partners across health, community, and justice sectors.
- Promote safe, high-quality, and family-centered care aligned with Recovery Alberta's values.
Profil recherché
- Proven experience in nursing with a strong interest in psychiatric or forensic mental health.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and a commitment to mentoring clinical teams.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team (health, community, and justice).
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and professional partners.
- Resilience and adaptability to manage complex clinical environments.
