Area Operations Manager – District Operations Lead

About the role

Indie Campers is seeking an experienced Area Operations Manager to oversee a cluster of depots across multiple locations. You will drive operational excellence, ensure high service standards, and support the growth of our campervan marketplace.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coach Depot Leaders across several sites.
• Monitor and improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and maintain service consistency.
• Track KPIs, implement corrective actions, and report results.
• Manage P&L, budgeting, and cost‑control initiatives.
• Collaborate with Central Ops, Finance, and HR teams.
• Travel up to 45% of the time to support depot teams, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of hands‑on operational experience in rent‑a‑car, logistics, retail or hospitality.
• 3–5 years leading multiple locations or high‑volume depots.
• Proven ability to manage depot financials, budgeting and supplier relationships.
• Strong communication skills in English (and local language if applicable).
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to drive campervans.
• Solution‑oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in dynamic environments.

Required skills

• Fleet management or vehicle maintenance knowledge (preferred).
• Process improvement and digital tools familiarity (preferred).
• Training, workforce planning or team development experience (preferred).
