Analyst, Treasury – Capital Markets and Corporate Finance

About the role

The Treasury Analyst will support the execution of financing strategy, capital allocation and senior‑management reporting for the George Weston group of companies. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Capital Markets and Corporate Finance, you will gain hands‑on experience across key treasury functions and develop a solid foundation in corporate finance.

Key responsibilities

• Support analysis of capital allocation strategy, leverage levels and financing alternatives.
• Maintain the three‑year capital structure plan and perform scenario analysis.
• Assist with debt reporting, reconciliation and alignment of internal and external disclosures.
• Monitor rating‑agency metrics, covenant compliance and transaction readiness.
• Execute capital‑markets activities, including debt, equity and preferred‑share issuances.
• Prepare reporting materials and presentations for senior leadership, the Board and shareholders.
• Improve treasury reporting processes to ensure timely, consistent and audit‑ready outputs.
• Support forecasting and variance analysis, including the Franchise Trust Credit Facility.
• Strengthen treasury controls, documentation and compliance procedures.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in treasury, corporate finance, capital markets or a related field.
• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline; CPA/CFA progress is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting, capital‑markets and corporate‑financing concepts.
• Knowledge of capital structure, leverage metrics and rating‑agency frameworks (e.g., S&P, DBRS).
