About the role
The City of Vaughan is seeking an experienced Agreement and Restrictions Coordinator to manage property transfer documentation, ensure compliance with municipal agreements, and register restrictive covenants.
Key responsibilities
- Expedite and examine property transfer documents for compliance with municipal agreements.
- Register restrictive covenants in accordance with the Land Titles Act and municipal conditions.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to assemble complete agreement packages that meet engineering criteria.
- Endorse property documents under the corporate seal and maintain accurate records.
- Advise and work with solicitors on consent procedures and the release of restrictions.
- Review and correspond with other departments for drafting and registration of restrictions.
- Interact with clients to achieve compliance and provide administrative support to the department.
Required profile
- Two‑year Community College Diploma in Legal Assistant or equivalent.
- Minimum three years of related experience, preferably in a municipal environment.
- Ability to read and understand surveys, reference plans, and legal documents related to land transfers.
- Strong interpersonal skills for courteous interaction with the public and staff.
- Proficient keyboarding and computer skills, with solid records‑management experience.
- Working knowledge of database and word‑processing software applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
