Advanced Network Engineer (6G Research)

About the role

Join Huawei Canada's Advanced Wireless Technology Lab to explore innovative 6G and beyond technologies, develop advanced solutions, and perform system‑level optimizations. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of graduate engineers and scientists to drive cutting‑edge wireless research.

Key responsibilities

• Explore and prototype 6G and future‑generation wireless technologies.
• Conduct research on one or more project aspects and contribute to new standards such as 3GPP, IETF, IEEE, and ETSI.
• Build prototypes and implement proof‑of‑concept code for various solutions.
• Develop software prototypes, execute demonstrations, and leverage lab resources for testing.
• Document findings, participate in technical discussions, file patents, and publish results in reputable venues.

Required profile

• PhD or Master degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of engineering and computer‑science fundamentals.
• Deep knowledge of the AI ecosystem, including AI agents.
• Expertise in machine‑learning techniques and theory (training, inference, data analytics).
• Proven software design and programming abilities.
• Ability to research complex topics and deliver innovative, concrete solutions.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
