Windows Administrator – Montreal

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Windows Administrator to join our financial services team in Montreal. You will be responsible for maintaining the health, security, and performance of our enterprise Windows environment, handling escalated incidents and ensuring high availability.

Key responsibilities

• Remediate vulnerabilities and enforce security compliance across Windows servers.
• Configure, administer, and support Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 platforms.
• Troubleshoot Exchange 2016 and Outlook issues.
• Maintain physical and virtual server infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime.
• Provide Level 3 support for Windows‑related incidents and escalations.
• Administer Active Directory, domain services, and related network components.
• Implement server hardening, antivirus protection, and security policies.
• Participate in system builds, upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
• Manage VMware ESX, Virtual Center, VM templates, and perform P2V/V2V migrations.
• Monitor and optimise CPU, memory, storage, and network utilisation in virtual environments.
• Diagnose hardware issues using HP iLO, HP SIM, Dell and IBM tools, and execute firmware upgrades.
• Conduct server health checks, performance tuning, and documentation.
• Participate in on‑call rotation while meeting SLA commitments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• 7–10 years of overall IT experience, with 4–5 years focused on Windows administration.
• Strong analytical skills for root‑cause analysis and incident management.
