Technical Director – Assessment, Remediation & Reclamation

About the role

H3M Environmental is seeking a motivated Technical Director to lead its Assessment, Remediation and Reclamation practice. Based in Calgary with remote or hybrid options, you will act as the senior technical authority for a portfolio of environmental projects supporting oil and gas clients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise across all project phases, ensuring alignment with client goals, regulatory frameworks and industry best practices.
• Review and sign‑off technical deliverables, guaranteeing quality, defensibility and compliance with environmental regulations.
• Engage directly with client environmental specialists to build trust and resolve technical challenges.
• Consult with provincial regulators, municipalities and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and support permitting processes.
• Monitor regulatory changes, assess project implications and integrate updates into project plans.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in environmental consulting, particularly within the oil and gas sector.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and oversee complex environmental portfolios.
• Strong understanding of Canadian environmental regulations and compliance processes.
• Excellent communication skills for client and regulator interaction.
