Technical Designer

About the role

Gensler is seeking a Technical Designer to work closely with architects and project teams, turning design concepts into detailed construction documentation. The role involves producing technical drawings, coordinating with consultants, and supporting construction administration to ensure projects meet client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in all project phases from concept through construction documents and production.
• Partner with the Project Architect to create accurate technical and contract documentation.
• Coordinate design intent with construction documentation and manage project team inputs.
• Support construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, and address technical issues.
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies.
• Use hand sketches and 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• 2‑5 years of post‑graduation professional experience.
• Knowledge of building codes, zoning, materials, specifications, and construction techniques.
• Experience preparing construction documents and conducting field observations.
