Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Xsolla is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer who is detail‑oriented, proactive, and highly collaborative. You will design and build scalable backend systems that power our gaming commerce platform, driving architectural improvements and delivering resilient, high‑performance services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services that power core products and platforms.
• Develop event‑driven systems using Go and Kafka.
• Build scalable microservices in containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Drive architecture decisions to improve performance, resiliency, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and QA to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Own code in production, monitor, debug, and continuously improve service performance and reliability.
• Write automated tests and follow CI/CD best practices for high‑quality deployments.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing across teams.
• Participate in on‑call rotation to support production systems and respond to incidents.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend development experience, preferably with Go or a similar language.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and event‑based communication.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues, optimize system performance, and manage event‑driven architectures.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
