Retail Counter Clerk – Postal Services

About the role

Canada Post is seeking an enthusiastic Retail Counter Clerk to join its Fort St. John outlet. In this front‑line position you will deliver excellent service to customers, handle mail items, and support daily retail operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform sales and customer‑service activities to ensure complete satisfaction.
• Operate a computerized point‑of‑sale (POS) system and process cash, cheque, debit and credit transactions.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of postal products, services and delivery options.
• Receive, sort and sequence mail items, lifting items up to 22.7 kg (50 lb).
• Maintain floor displays, conduct merchandising and inventory control.

Required profile

• Experience in a retail customer‑service environment.
• Ability to lift and handle mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Reliability and a customer‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Operation of a computerized Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Cash handling and basic transaction processing.
• Basic inventory and merchandising skills.
