About the role

The University of British Columbia is seeking a Research Coordinator to support clinical and translational research within the Otolaryngology clinic at St. Paul’s Hospital. The incumbent will manage regulatory submissions, coordinate study operations, and assist physicians and research teams in delivering high‑quality, ethical research.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit Research Ethics Board (REB) applications, amendments, and renewals.
  • Recruit, screen, and obtain consent from study participants according to approved protocols.
  • Coordinate data and sample collection, processing, and maintain study documentation.
  • Maintain study databases, ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide day‑to‑day study coordination and communication for multiple otolaryngology surgeons.
  • Assist with study logistics, scheduling, and administrative tasks.
  • Offer administrative and financial support for clinical research activities at St. Paul’s Hospital.

Required profile

  • Experience in clinical research coordination, including REB submissions and participant recruitment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple studies simultaneously.
  • Ability to work closely with physicians, research assistants, and hospital staff.
