Registered Nurse Specialist, Clinical Responder

About the role

The Trillium Gift of Life Network, part of Ontario Health, is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse Specialist to act as a Clinical Responder. You will guide every step of the organ donation process, from donor suitability assessment to family consent and medical donor management, ensuring optimal organ yield for transplantation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site or remote support to healthcare professionals and families throughout the donation pathway.
• Conduct clinical assessments and evaluate donor suitability, including death determination.
• Approach families, obtain consent, and coordinate with medical teams for donor management.
• Document all steps accurately and liaise with the Manager, Hospital Programs.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with extensive experience in clinical assessment and donor management.
• Demonstrated ability to work sensitively with families during end‑of‑life situations.
• Strong communication skills and capacity to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
