Registered Nurse – A2 Medicine/Surgery

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our A2 Medicine/Surgery unit. The RN will lead the coordinated care team, delivering patient‑centered care across medical and surgical services in a hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for admitted patients.
• Develop and maintain individualized patient care plans and monitor outcomes.
• Perform both dependent and independent nursing actions while supervising nursing assistants and students.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and the multidisciplinary health team.
• Document care accurately in accordance with hospital policies.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives and support unit management as delegated.

Required profile

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and a valid nursing licence.
• Minimum two years of recent medical‑surgical nursing experience within the past three years.
• Demonstrated leadership, critical‑thinking and adaptability to unpredictable situations.
• Willingness to cross‑train in related specialty areas as needed.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – asset.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification – asset.
• Training or education in Critical Care – asset.
