Red Seal Powerline Technician (Journeyperson/Subforeperson/Foreperson) – Ontario

About the role

Hydro One Networks Inc. is seeking Red Seal‑qualified Powerline Technicians for a 12‑month fixed‑term assignment (potentially extendable) in the Eastern and Central zones of Ontario. The position offers a 4‑day, 40‑hour work week (Monday‑Thursday, 4 × 10 hour shifts) with overtime as required.

Key responsibilities

• Construct, maintain, and refurbish transmission lines and related bulk electrical system components.
• String transmission lines, assemble and erect transmission towers.
• Perform insulator, wood‑pole, shield‑wire, and OPGW installations and replacements.
• Execute conductor dead‑ending, looping, and related splicing tasks.
• Plan and schedule resources for day‑to‑day activities on TX Program Work and TX Capital Projects.

Required profile

• Valid G licence and a Red Seal certification as a Powerline Technician Journeyperson.
• Physical ability to climb towers and poles, lift up to 25 kg, and work in extreme weather.
• Capability to perform rescue techniques, including bucket evacuation.
• Strong communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
• Previous supervisory or transmission experience is an asset.
