About the role

The Recruitment & On‑boarding Coordinator reports to the Manager, People & Culture and is responsible for delivering a seamless candidate experience from application through the first months of employment. This hybrid position supports Covenant House Toronto’s mission by attracting and integrating talent that will serve homeless and at‑risk youth.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the end‑to‑end recruitment cycle: post jobs, source candidates, screen, schedule interviews, conduct background checks and coordinate offers.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and craft compelling job postings.
  • Maintain and update the applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure all recruitment documentation is accurate and audit‑ready.
  • Coordinate pre‑employment checks, prepare onboarding documentation and organize orientation sessions.
  • Set up equipment, system access and workstations for new hires and track onboarding progress for the first three months.
  • Conduct new‑hire check‑ins, stay interviews and support health‑and‑safety and mandatory training compliance.
  • Monitor recruitment and onboarding KPIs and take corrective actions as needed.

Required profile

  • Relevant post‑secondary education in HR Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with candidates, hiring managers and external partners.
  • Experience coordinating recruitment or onboarding activities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
