Quality Control & Assurance Lead

About the role

The Quality Control & Assurance Lead will drive the Annacis Island Hydrothermal Liquefaction Demonstration Facility to meet strict Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) outlined in the operations agreement. This role ensures data integrity and product quality for an experimental HTL process.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the facility’s QA/QC programs and ensure compliance with reporting and data standards.
• Monitor and optimize process metrics to achieve targets such as 90% solids capture in the dewatering centrifuge and pumping two dry tonnes of solids per day.
• Oversee oil/water separation to maintain <1% water in biocrude oil and <1% oil in the aqueous phase.
• Manage precipitate blowdown and storage, meeting limits of 1% oil and 60% water content.
• Control feedstock parameters to meet Total Solids KPIs across test scenarios.
• Ensure at least 95% of daily and weekly operational and laboratory reports are accurate and on time.
• Support operational availability of 80% and execution of 80% of prescribed test conditions.
• Validate external laboratory data and maintain flawless data entry in the DeltaV Historian system.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within an industrial or environmental setting.
• Proven track record of managing KPI‑driven processes and optimizing production performance.
• Strong understanding of hydrothermal liquefaction, solids dewatering, and oil/water separation technologies.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate reports on schedule.
