Product Designer – Internal Tools

About the role

Stripe is looking for a Product Designer to own the experience of internal tools that power the company’s engineering, operations, finance and other teams. You will shape products that improve developer productivity and enable large‑scale collaboration across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end design for a portfolio of internal tools, from discovery and problem framing to interaction design, prototyping and implementation support.
• Partner with engineers and product managers to define requirements and translate them into clear, usable design solutions.
• Conduct lightweight research and usability sessions with internal users to validate decisions and uncover unmet needs.
• Contribute to a consistent design language across internal tools, collaborating closely with the Sail Design team and Stripe’s design system.
• Make informed design trade‑offs, balancing craftsmanship with pragmatic delivery.
• Advocate for internal users and raise the overall quality of internal product design at Stripe.

Required profile

• 5+ years of product design experience with a portfolio that demonstrates strong UX thinking and visual craft.
• Experience designing tools for complex or data‑heavy workflows (e.g., internal tools, developer tools, ops platforms) is a strong plus.
• Comfortable leading the full design process, from discovery and problem brief to design, prototype and shipping.
• Systems thinker who seeks patterns, reusable components and structural solutions.
