Probationary Part-Time Kindergarten Teacher

About the role

The Palliser School Division is seeking a motivated educator to join Barons School as a Probationary Part‑Time Kindergarten Teacher. This 0.5 FTE position runs from August 21 2026 to June 30 2027 and supports a multi‑age, low‑German speaking Mennonite community.

Key responsibilities

• Establish clear learning objectives aligned with Alberta Education curriculum and communicate them to students.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom environments for daily activities.
• Deliver instruction using a variety of approaches appropriate for grade level and student needs.
• Plan and conduct balanced programs of instruction, demonstration, and hands‑on work.
• Assign, collect, and grade homework, projects, tests, and other assessments.
• Observe and evaluate student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records.
• Establish and enforce classroom rules and procedures to maintain order.

Required profile

• Passionate about early childhood education and inclusive teaching practices.
• Willingness to work with low‑German speaking Mennonite students and respect their cultural and linguistic background.
• Commitment to building strong relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to collaborate within a diverse, equitable workplace.
