MRB Engineer – Design (Aerospace)

About the role

Join the 787 Material Review Board (MRB) team within Safran LS and support the design and analysis of critical landing‑gear components for one of the world’s most important commercial aircraft programs. You will work closely with the Integrated Product Team and external suppliers to ensure compliance, reliability and cost‑effectiveness of parts throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate non‑conformances on detail parts and assemblies according to Boeing MRB procedures.
• Investigate design and manufacturing issues, initiate and document Requests for Design Modification.
• Apply lessons learned to new designs and enforce harmonised design standards.
• Support landing‑gear performance investigations and interpret stress/performance analyses.
• Collaborate with internal disciplines (Stress, Dynamics, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, etc.) and external suppliers.
• Progress from Limited to Full MRB Authority as granted by Boeing.
• Provide on‑call AOG and production support on a rotating basis.
• Mentor less‑experienced team members and contribute to dynamic resourcing across programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum 6 years of aerospace industry experience, preferably in landing‑gear or systems design.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CATIA V5 (solid modelling, kinematics, 2D layouts).
• Knowledge of tolerance stack‑up analysis and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing to ASME Y14.5M‑1994.
• Experience interpreting stress and performance analyses.
