Meter Data Operator – Electrical Utility

About the role

The Meter Data Operator will support the Metering and Operational Data department by handling clerical, administrative, data entry and analysis tasks. This position ensures accurate metering data management for Oshawa Power’s electricity distribution network.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, read, validate, edit and operate MV90, MDM, and AMI systems in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Process metering data through the validation, estimate and edit (VEE) workflow and review exception reports.
• Liaise with IESO and MDM/R to resolve ticket issues and confirm data file transfers.
• Coordinate replacement of failed meters and estimate usage as needed.
• Administer reverification of metering assets with Measurement Canada.
• Set up, remove and delete meters and gatekeepers in associated systems.
• Identify and resolve client/server application issues and apply software service upgrades.
• Support AMI 2.0 implementation, maintenance and transition.
• Provide ongoing support for daily metering department operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in an electrical utility metering environment.
• Post‑secondary education in Electrical or Computer Technology (asset).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with safety and industry regulations such as OHSA, TSSA, ESA, IESO, CEA, OEB and Measurement Canada.
