Medical Transcriptionist – Histology Team (Brampton)

About the role

Dynacare is seeking a Medical Transcriptionist to join its Histology team in Brampton, Ontario. Working full‑time on a 12‑month contract, you will listen to recorded medical reports from healthcare practitioners and accurately transcribe them into written documents, supporting pathologists and the laboratory workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Transcribe medical reports for pathologists, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare consultation reports and maintain records of incoming and outgoing documents.
• Track and audit turnaround‑time metrics, monthly report totals, and other specialized reports.
• Perform administrative tasks such as updating manuals, policies, procedures, and preparing business documents (minutes, memos, letters, labels).
• Assist pathologists and department heads with special projects and surgical pathology QA initiatives.
• Handle additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Completion of a Medical Office Administration training program.
• Previous experience with medical terminology and transcription.
• Ability to type at least 40 words per minute with 80% accuracy.
• Strong proofreading skills to identify and correct errors.
• Capacity to multitask, work collaboratively in a team, and manage time effectively in a high‑volume environment.
