Medical Information Specialist – Nursing Expertise

About the role

The Medical Information Specialist (MIS) provides accurate medical and safety information to healthcare professionals, consumers, and other external stakeholders on behalf of ProPharma’s pharmaceutical clients. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements while delivering high‑quality responses and documenting adverse events.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to unsolicited inquiries via phone, email, fax, letter, website, and scientific meetings, providing labeled and unlabeled medical/safety information.
• Identify, document, and report adverse events, pregnancy reports, special situation events, and product complaints in accordance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
• Prepare and log all inquiries in the Inquiry Handling System, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Perform quality checks on adverse event reports, product complaints, and correspondence.
• Provide after‑hours coverage on a rotating schedule as required.
• Adhere to data privacy, health and safety, and confidentiality policies.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse or equivalent clinical background.
• Strong knowledge of medical information, pharmacovigilance, and regulatory standards.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to craft clear, concise responses.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under defined deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using inquiry handling and adverse event reporting systems.
• Familiarity with labeling, product literature, and scientific databases.
