Mechanical Engineer – Medical Device Design

About the role

Sonele is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support product development, manufacturing, and testing of advanced medical devices. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager and cross‑functional teams to turn concepts into reliable, market‑ready products.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in product development and manufacturing activities.
• Contribute to design reviews, providing technical insight.
• Create 3D mechanical assemblies and fixtures using SolidWorks.
• Generate 2D drawings, bills of materials and engineering documentation.
• Analyze manufacturability, costing and lead times for electro‑mechanical systems.
• Establish supply chains and manage purchasing of raw materials and components.
• Develop assembly procedures and other manufacturing documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Technologist Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics and BOMs.
• Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (3D CAD) and SolidWorks PDM.
• Good knowledge of GD&T.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Understanding of CNC machining, sheet‑metal fabrication and injection molding processes.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 is a plus.
