Mechanical Design Engineer – Hybrid (Ontario)

About the role

Join Westinghouse’s innovative team as a Mechanical Design Engineer, supporting both traditional nuclear markets and new nuclear‑technology projects. This hybrid position is based in Ontario, with an expectation of two on‑site days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials for complex electro‑mechanical tooling.
• Assemble and test custom equipment throughout its evolution from prototype to final product.
• Create test procedures to verify compliance with design specifications.
• Operate final tooling systems at customer facilities.
• Provide technical oversight and mentor junior engineering team members.
• Perform hand calculations and finite‑element analysis (FEA) to qualify systems against applicable codes and standards.
• Prepare clear design reports and technical specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience; recent graduates are welcome.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid schedule (2 days on‑site per week).
