Long Haul Truck Driver – International Routes

About the role

We are seeking an experienced long haul truck driver to transport goods across national and international routes. The role involves operating both straight and articulated trucks, often in challenging mountain terrain, and requires a high level of professionalism in customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Drive as part of a two‑person team or convoy on long‑distance routes.
• Operate lighter, special‑purpose and refrigerated trucks, ensuring cargo safety and security.
• Obtain and manage special permits, trans‑border documentation, and other required paperwork.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections, including brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
• Load and unload goods, tarp cargo, and record mileage, fuel consumption, and hours of service.
• Communicate with central dispatch via CB radio and GPS, and handle customer complaints professionally.
• Maintain vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold‑storage equipment.

Required profile

• Valid Class 1 or Class A driver’s licence with Air Brakes endorsement.
• Valid passport and ability to travel cross‑border, overnight, and internationally.
• Clean driving record, bondable status, and successful completion of background, drug, and medical checks.
• Physical ability to handle loads up to 45 kg, sit for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and reliable, organized work habits.

Required skills

• Air Brakes Endorsement (Air Brake Z).
• Operation of CB radio communication systems.
• Proficiency with GPS navigation and on‑board trip recorders.
• Mountain driving expertise.
• Experience with refrigerated, straight, and articulated truck operation.
• Handling of trans‑border documentation and international shipping paperwork.
