Life Enrichment Staff

About the role

The Life Enrichment Staff member provides recreation, leisure, social and therapeutic activities for residents of a long‑term care home. Working part‑time on a scheduled basis, the role supports elders in maintaining a high quality of life through both indoor and outdoor programs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with therapeutic activities such as walking programs, range‑of‑motion exercises and dining support.
• Help residents set wellness goals and encourage participation in chosen activities.
• Complete referrals for seating and mobility equipment and coordinate purchases with families and vendors.
• Develop, coordinate and evaluate individual and group recreation programs, both on‑site and in the community.
• Provide information on community events, arrange transportation, book rooms and vans, and manage supplies.
• Document resident care plans, daily activity logs, and attend interdisciplinary meetings.

Required profile

• Experience working with seniors in a care or community setting.
• Ability to plan and organise group activities and outings.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with residents, families and external providers.
• Basic knowledge of mobility equipment and therapeutic exercise principles.
