Legal Counsel – Remote (Canada)

About the role

Nuvei, a global fintech company, is looking for a Legal Counsel to join its Canadian team on a permanent, remote basis. The role supports the development of payment solutions worldwide by providing legal advice across product, sales and commercial agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and manage a variety of commercial agreements, including information technology contracts.
• Provide product and sales support to ensure compliance with internal policies, applicable laws and regulations.
• Assist in managing and monitoring litigation matters in Canada and the United States, coordinating with external counsel.
• Collaborate daily with Operations, Compliance, Sales, Marketing and Finance teams to address legal needs.

Required profile

• Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec or another Canadian province, or licensed in at least one US jurisdiction.
• Minimum three years of experience in commercial and transactional law, preferably within regulated industries.
• Familiarity with anti‑money‑laundering regulations, the Bank Secrecy Act and regulations affecting money‑service businesses.
• Strong negotiation and drafting abilities and the capacity to work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Drafting and reviewing information technology contracts.
• Knowledge of payment services industry regulations.
