Job Captain – Curtain Wall

About the role

Flynn Group of Companies is seeking a skilled Job Captain to lead the design and production of unitized curtain wall systems for large‑scale projects. The role combines detailed drafting, coordination with project teams, and problem‑solving to ensure high‑quality façade installations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and draft detailed drawings for architectural approval, shop fabrication, and field installation.
• Create custom designs for architectural proposals and generate complete fabrication drawings with bills of materials.
• Utilize all curtain wall and architectural metal products offered by Flynn, recognizing and solving both basic and advanced detailing issues.
• Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and construction sequencing.
• Identify, resolve, and document curtain wall issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Plan and execute shop drawing packages, coordinating with estimators, project managers, and design/construction teams.
• Check fabrication releases and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Perform any additional duties as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Job Captain on unitized curtain wall projects.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD; experience with Revit, Inventor, and Vault is a plus.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding architectural and structural drawings.
• Self‑motivated with excellent organization and attention to detail.
