Instructor – Specialized Topics in Personal Injury Law (Fall 2026)

About the role

The Faculty of Law at McGill University seeks an experienced legal professional to teach the course "Specialized Topics in Law 7 – Personal Injury Law" during the Fall 2026 term. The instructor will guide students through the practical, legal, and conceptual foundations of personal injury law.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly lectures on Tuesdays from 16:05 to 18:55 in Chancellor Day Hall.
• Facilitate class discussions and case analyses covering fault, causation, damages, and various injury types.
• Coordinate guest speaker sessions with judges, lawyers, medical experts, and other specialists.
• Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and participation.

Required profile

• At minimum, a first degree in law (LL.B. or J.D.).
• Several years of significant practice or professional experience in personal injury law.
• Experience teaching undergraduate law students in a bilingual (English/French) environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of personal injury law, including fault, causation, and damages assessment.
• Ability to present complex legal concepts clearly to undergraduate students.
• Effective classroom management and public speaking skills.
