HLI Research Operations Manager

About the role

The HLI Research Operations Manager supports the HLI Director, Associate Director and Executive Team in overseeing all research activities and operations at the UBC Centre for Heart Lung Innovation. The role ensures operational excellence across wet and dry labs for more than 40 principal investigators.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and communicate research projects across nine core facilities.
• Provide operational oversight and maintain quality standards for each core facility.
• Engage with core research managers to drive facility success.
• Manage research financial tasks, including budgeting and funding applications, under the direction of the HLI Director.
• Support planning and scheduling of multidisciplinary research activities.

Required profile

• Strong organizational and coordination abilities in a research environment.
• Experience working with multiple investigators and interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to make professional decisions regarding research operations.
• Familiarity with research compliance, ethics, and financial processes.
