Full‑time Emergency Physician – Vancouver, BC

About the role

We are seeking full‑time Emergency Physicians to work across Royal Columbian Hospital and Eagle Ridge Hospital in the Vancouver region. The position involves approximately 13 shifts per month, teaching responsibilities, and opportunities for research and leadership within a large, collegial group.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality emergency care to diverse adult, pediatric and trauma patients at two busy hospitals.
• Teach and supervise residents and medical students during clinical shifts.
• Participate in research, quality‑improvement projects, and educational initiatives such as simulation.
• Contribute to departmental leadership, geriatric emergency medicine programs, and equity, diversity and inclusion efforts.

Required profile

• Certification in CCFP (EM) or FRCPC (EM) and eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
• PALS or APLS certification obtained within the past five years.
• ABEM certification (eligible).
• Experience in a high‑volume, high‑acuity emergency department, preferably with trauma and pediatric exposure.
• ATLS or comparable trauma certification is highly recommended.

Required skills

• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Advanced Pediatric Life Support (APLS)
• Emergency medicine clinical expertise (CCFP EM, FRCPC EM)
• ABEM certification
