About the role
The Fresh Clerk supports the visual appeal and quality of fresh products in our markets and cafés. You will ensure products are merchandised, safely handled, and that customers receive friendly, knowledgeable service.
Key responsibilities
- Handle fresh products safely, following knife and equipment protocols, and rotate stock using FIFO.
- Merchandise items on the sales floor, maintain tidy work areas, and clean coolers, shelves, and equipment.
- Utilize Community Natural Foods systems and technology to track inventory and support new system implementations.
- Greet customers, answer questions, resolve complaints, and promote sales, promotions, and in‑store events.
Required profile
- High school diploma (preferred) and 1‑2 years of retail experience.
- Knowledge of the natural foods industry and strong product‑handling practices.
- Excellent time‑management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude, high energy, and ability to work under pressure.
Required skills
- Computer knowledge and technical aptitude.
- Proficiency with retail point‑of‑sale and inventory systems.
