Family/General Practitioner – Palliative Care Role

About the role

This position offers a unique blend of clinical and academic work for a physician interested in palliative care. You will serve as an acute inpatient consultant at Kelowna General Hospital and as an outpatient consultant at the Cancer Centre’s Cancer Pain and Symptom Management Clinic.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute inpatient consults for palliative patients at Kelowna General Hospital.
• Manage outpatient pain and symptom clinics at the Cancer Centre.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and improve program services.
• Participate in academic activities, teaching, and research related to palliative care.

Required profile

• Medical degree and licensure meeting the requirements of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
• Eligibility to practice with BC Cancer and Kelowna General Hospital.
• Experience or strong interest in palliative and cancer pain management.
• Ability to work in a team‑oriented, multidisciplinary environment.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and management of palliative care patients.
• Knowledge of cancer pain and symptom management protocols.
• Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
