Equipment Operator – Heavy Machinery (Level 2)

About the role

Join the Trail Crew at a mountain resort and operate heavy‑duty equipment to maintain hiking trails, ski runs and other resort areas during the summer season. The role blends technical equipment operation with environmental stewardship and guest‑focused service.

Key responsibilities

• Operate excavators, bulldozers, backhoes and front‑end loaders for trail and erosion control work.
• Run winch‑assisted and conventional snow‑grooming equipment to prepare early‑season slopes.
• Perform landscaping, cattle control, sign maintenance and erosion‑control tasks.
• Support snowmaking operations by moving equipment and managing early‑season production.
• Prepare venues for special events and complete daily operational reports.
• Adhere to safety protocols and risk‑management procedures year‑round.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience operating heavy equipment (excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, front‑end loaders).
• Minimum 5 years experience with winch‑assisted and conventional snow‑grooming equipment in a mountain environment.
• Mature, safety‑conscious team player with strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
• Good communication skills and ability to perform under pressure.
