Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake

About the role

Join a collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. The 24/7 emergency department sees about 22,000 visits annually and offers a diverse case mix with procedural opportunities and collaboration with multiple specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute emergency care to patients of all ages in a busy Level 2 community hospital.
• Collaborate with internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics, psychiatry and other specialists.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development programs such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program.
• Contribute to the ongoing redevelopment of the hospital, including the new expanded emergency department.

Required profile

• Canadian Certified Family Physician (CCFP) with Emergency Medicine designation, CCFP(EM), or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice in British Columbia.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment; emergency experience is an asset but not mandatory.
• Interest in mentorship, teaching, and potential leadership roles.
