Emergency Medicine Physician – Full‑time at Kelowna General Hospital

About the role

Kelowna General Hospital is seeking board‑certified Emergency Medicine physicians to join a vibrant, academic emergency department serving over 84,000 annual visits. The position offers a full‑time schedule with approximately 14 eight‑hour shifts per month, and the opportunity to work in a Level 2 Trauma Centre and cardiac critical‑care hub.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care, including trauma resuscitation and complex medical presentations.
• Participate in advanced cardiac procedures such as ECMO, open‑heart surgery support, coronary revascularizations, and endovascular thrombectomies.
• Contribute to the teaching mission through bedside instruction, simulation sessions, Grand Rounds, and journal clubs.
• Collaborate with a collegial team, fostering mentorship and a supportive work environment.

Required profile

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine (FRCPC or equivalent).
• Experience in high‑volume emergency settings, preferably with trauma or cardiac critical‑care exposure.
• Commitment to academic teaching and continuous professional development.
