Contract Field Operator – Cold Lake, AB

About the role

We are looking for a Contract Field Operator to support safe, compliant, and efficient operations across pipeline facilities within the HMGP system in Cold Lake, Alberta. The role involves daily monitoring of gathering system terminals, booster stations, LACT units, and related infrastructure while working closely with control room, engineering, and maintenance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor Alberta Gathering System terminals, booster stations, LACT units, and pipeline systems.
• Perform daily operational rounds, facility inspections, and regulatory compliance checks.
• Support maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution, including isolation, LOTO, and outage procedures.
• Assist the Control Room with field operational issues and troubleshoot production or technical problems.
• Maintain SAP work orders, upload inspection reports, and manage safety tracking in Intelex.
• Participate in audits, inspections, continuous‑improvement initiatives, and uphold housekeeping standards.

Required profile

• Oil & gas experience, preferably in pipeline, gathering, or compression.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with relevant driving experience.
• Willingness to work in a safety‑sensitive environment and undergo drug & alcohol testing.

• Hourly rate of $40‑$45 CAD plus 4% vacation pay.
• $25 CAD per hour vehicle allowance and fuel surcharge.
