Chief Medical Officer (CMO) – Hospital Leadership

About the role

The Chief Medical Officer will lead all clinical and medical operations at Dushanbe International Hospital, a new 163‑bed multidisciplinary facility in Tajikistan. Reporting to senior management, the CMO ensures the highest standards of patient care, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinical and medical activities across all departments.
• Supervise, motivate and develop doctors and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
• Ensure patient care meets national and international medical standards.
• Develop, implement and update clinical policies, protocols and medical strategies.
• Lead training, mentoring and performance‑improvement initiatives for medical staff.
• Coordinate with department heads to enhance operational efficiency.
• Support accreditation, licensing and regulatory compliance processes.
• Participate in strategic planning and hospital development projects.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (MD) degree with a valid medical license.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in hospital settings.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role within government or private hospitals.
• Proven track record in managing, motivating and developing doctors and clinical personnel.
• Strong experience in medical training and clinical supervision.
• Excellent leadership, communication and decision‑making abilities.
• Deep understanding of hospital operations, quality standards and patient safety.

Required skills

• Valid medical license (MD).
• Experience with hospital accreditation and quality‑management systems.
