Business Insight Analyst

About the role

Air Canada is seeking a Business Insight Analyst to design and deliver business intelligence solutions that turn operational data into actionable insights. You will create intuitive, high‑quality reporting experiences using Power BI and support cross‑functional initiatives across the airline.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and recommend data‑driven approaches to improve operational processes and decision‑making.
• Build user‑friendly reporting experiences with consistent KPI definitions and self‑serve capabilities.
• Develop, implement, and maintain data models, semantic layers, and reporting datasets.
• Analyze data, identify trends, and deliver dashboards, reports, and KPI views for stakeholders.
• Design and optimise SQL queries to extract and shape data from platforms such as Snowflake.
• Automate reporting pipelines and ensure timely, scalable delivery of insights.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, semantic models, KPIs, and scorecards.
• Investigate and resolve data quality issues and implement monitoring processes.
• Present findings to operational teams and provide knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
• Experience creating dashboards and reports with Power BI, including data modelling and DAX.
• Familiarity with modern BI platforms such as Microsoft Fabric or Power BI Service.
