Assistant Vice President – Wealth Management

About the role

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) for ACU Wealth supports the Vice President in shaping operational and business plans that drive Assiniboine Credit Union’s strategic objectives. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality financial advice, fostering a culture of comprehensive wealth planning, and championing ACU’s commitment to rural, agricultural, and francophone communities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of Advisors across multiple member segments.
• Maintain department service levels, ensuring execution of strategic and operational plans.
• Promote ACU products and services while upholding values‑based banking and DEI principles.
• Drive an advice‑centric culture, ensuring needs‑based, advice‑based sales practices.
• Set performance expectations, coach team members, and monitor key performance indicators.
• Identify cross‑functional referral opportunities with branches, agriculture, business, and community teams.
• Oversee accreditation, continued education, and knowledge development within the team.
• Develop succession and employee development plans to ensure business continuity.
• Act as a member advocate, addressing pain points and enhancing the member experience.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in wealth management or financial services.
• Strong understanding of financial planning, advisory sales, and regulatory compliance.
