Android Software Engineer – Software Developer II

About the role

Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking an Android Software Engineer to join the CNN Mobile Engineering team. As an individual contributor, you will work with minimal supervision to tackle challenging technical problems and help shape the mobile technology strategy for CNN’s consumer apps.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement architecture, best practices, and technology choices for Android applications.
• Collaborate with product, design, and delivery leaders to deliver feature initiatives.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for mobile releases.
• Integrate mobile apps with backend APIs and ensure high‑quality releases to end users.
• Support senior engineers and architects in technical direction and strategy.

• Self‑directed individual contributor with ability to work independently.
• Passionate about building mobile experiences for news audiences.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
