About the role
The City of Brampton is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the Coordinator of Employee Support Services within the Transit Division. The role focuses on payroll and time‑keeping functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing for non‑union, part‑time, maintenance and operations staff.
Key responsibilities
- Process and verify payroll data for Transit staff, ensuring compliance with collective agreements and payroll deadlines.
- Enter and adjust time‑keeping records, generate payroll reports, and reconcile data with Payroll Services.
- Identify and resolve payroll issues, escalating when necessary, and act as the primary contact for payroll inquiries in the Coordinator’s absence.
- Respond promptly to employee inquiries, provide procedural guidance, and maintain a database of customer requests.
- Support special projects such as implementation and testing of Hastus, Workforce MyTime, and related scheduling systems.
- Prepare standard correspondence, statistical reports, and maintain updated payroll process documentation.
Required profile
- Experience with payroll, time‑keeping, and collective‑agreement interpretation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent customer‑service orientation and communication skills.
- Willingness to work additional hours when required to ensure payroll accuracy.

- Competitive salary range of $71,121 – $88,901 CAD per year.
