System Administrator – Remote Infrastructure Commander

About the role

We need an Infrastructure Commander to own, optimise and fortify the backbone of our digital operations. This fully remote, high‑availability role is for a systems specialist who treats infrastructure as code and as a fortress.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, scale and maintain bare‑metal hypervisors and highly available storage architectures (Proxmox VE, Ceph).
• Deploy, harden and scale core Linux environment pools using automated orchestration.
• Maintain visibility over server health and application metrics, proactively hunting anomalies.
• Act as front‑line responder to outages, troubleshooting system errors, hardware faults and network issues.
• Implement strict firewall rules, manage routing, execute vulnerability scans and maintain access controls for audits.
• Manage internal user environments, create documentation, procure tooling and support the global IT backbone.

Required profile

• Proven track record managing distributed infrastructure, network nodes and bare‑metal server architectures under pressure.
• Experience with ISMS audits, vulnerability tracking and maintaining audit‑ready documentation.
• Availability to respond to incidents 7 days a week, ensuring hyper‑availability.
• Self‑motivated, highly organised and able to execute hardware/software purchasing and upgrades independently.
