Senior Project Engineer - Infrastructure & Civil Works

About the Position

Join the County of Simcoe as a Senior Project Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our local infrastructure. You will lead high-impact engineering projects, from initial environmental assessment to final construction, ensuring the long-term growth and safety of our community's transportation and water networks.

Main Missions

• Direct all aspects of engineering project management, including road extensions, intersections, and bridge improvements.
• Coordinate environmental impact studies and long-term strategic planning for municipal infrastructure.
• Manage diverse infrastructure projects such as storm sewers, drainage systems, and traffic signaling.
• Oversee the selection, supervision, and performance monitoring of external consultants and contractors.
• Prepare and manage multi-year financial plans (5 to 25-year outlooks) and annual budgets.
• Draft technical reports and correspondence for the municipal council regarding land management and acquisition.
• Ensure strict compliance with municipal regulations and provincial legislation.
• Act as a key liaison between federal/provincial agencies, developers, and community stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in managing large-scale civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Strong expertise in environmental assessment processes and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated ability in financial planning, budgeting, and long-term asset management.
