Senior Manager, Events Strategy

About the role

The Senior Manager, Events Strategy leads the strategic direction, planning, execution, measurement and optimisation of EQ Bank’s event and sponsorship portfolio across multiple business lines. This role positions events as a core growth channel, strengthening broker relationships, driving customer engagement and delivering measurable business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an enterprise‑wide event strategy aligned with business goals, audience needs and marketing priorities.
• Manage a national portfolio of up to 300 events annually, including conferences, sponsorships, broker education programmes and customer‑facing initiatives.
• Design and implement ROI measurement frameworks, dashboards and scorecards to evaluate event performance.
• Oversee multi‑million‑dollar annual event budgets, forecast spending and drive cost efficiencies while maintaining quality.
• Lead negotiations with venues, suppliers and sponsors, and manage vendor relationships to maximise value.
• Coach and develop the event team, fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Sales, Broker Relations, Product, Marketing, Communications, Finance and Risk to ensure alignment and influence strategic decisions.

Required profile

• 8–10+ years of experience in event marketing, event strategy or integrated marketing, with a track record of managing large‑scale portfolios and significant budgets.
• Strong understanding of B2B relationship marketing, channel strategy and the ability to translate data insights into business recommendations.
• Experience developing event measurement frameworks and reporting ROI.
• Proven leadership skills, including coaching direct reports and building high‑performing teams.
• Experience in financial services, banking or mortgage sectors is an asset.
